Rev. Thomas E. Vaught

The Rev. Thomas Earl Vaught of Bel Air died at St. Joseph Hospital in Towson Friday. He was 72.

Born in Marion, Va., he was the son of the late Arthur and Katerine Handy Vaught. He was a pastor at Harford Furnace Baptist Church in Creswell and served in the Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Barnes Vaught of Bel Air, two sons, Monty Hale Vaught and Mark Andrew Vaught, both of Bel Air, a daughter, Joan D. Lambert, Henderson, Nev., and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Harford Furnace Baptist Church in Creswell Monday with the Rev. Wayne W. Swearingen officiating. Interment was in Harford Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Robert Herring, Dale Perry, Jack Nelson, Jeff Absher, Skip Repman, Jason McGrady, Clarence Hicks and Marshall Hunt. Arrangements were by McComas Funeral Home in Abingdon.
